Cserve Corporate Services is recruiting a Health and Safety Executive to Maputo.

Requirements:

  • Medium level completed;
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience as a health and safety executive;
  • SAMTRAC, Incident Investigation Level 3, Risk Assessment Level 5 Grade 12 pass and University Degree will be added advantage;
  • Sufficient Knowledge of Mozambican Health and Safety Legislations, regional and global standards;
  • Experience working in EH&S program management for large Organizations or Projects;
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English (spoken & written).

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and carries out the EH&S actions as defined within the integrated safety management system (including guidelines, procedures, training and surveys);
  • Maintains a strong commitment to the implementation and perpetuation and safety program values and ethics;
  • Provide support and back-to-back to the Plant Manager and oversee Operational EHS Issues;
  • Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced during operations;
  • Implement, monitor and review protective and preventive safety measures during task execution;
  • Ensuring that employers and workers comply with safety legislation and that safety policies and practices are adopted and adhered to;
  • Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being implemented properly;
  • Keeping records of inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvements;
  • Recording of incidents and accidents;
  • Presenting Safety talks, newsletters and bulletins to all employees.
