Biocarbon Partners will recruit one (1) Procurement and Logistics Officer for Maputo.

Objective of the position:
The Procurement and Logistics Officer acts as the primary point of contact between suppliers and BCP. They are responsible for the procurement of products and goods for use in the business by identifying potential supplier sources, screening them and negotiating favorable payment terms. Other duties include monitoring supplier performance and ensuring contractual obligations are met, coordinating logistical arrangements for the teams, overseeing drivers to ensure effective logistical operations and fleet management. Ensuring quality control and adhering to the company’s policies and procedures on procurement and logistics management will be some of your main priorities when carrying out this role.

Main Procurement Responsibilities:
- Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements and negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with those vendors and suppliers;
- Monitor and update relevant departments regarding price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing;
- Manage an efficient flow of goods to ensure optimum performance in project areas;
- Work closely with the CFO to ensure contract terms are favorable to the company;
- Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective;
- Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility;
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers;
- Providing system purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services;
- Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements;
- Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs;
- Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods;
- Preparing procurement reports;
- Keep supplier database and contract database up to date at all times;
- Ensure stock and inventory is secured and tracked on a monthly basis;
- Ensure assets are assigned appropriately to individuals and offices and keep up to date asset register;
- Management of lease agreements;
- Property management of all offices.
Main Logistics Responsibilities:
- Manage logistical arrangements for staff including all travel arrangements (meetings, flights, accommodation, visa support);
- Manage the fleet usage including to ensure logbooks are kept up to date, maintenance is completed as per schedules, fuel tracking is efficient;
- Work closely with Fleet Manager to ensure vehicle policies are implemented in country office and field offices;
- Oversee the drivers in their responsibilities, performance and compliance to vehicle driving and management policies as well as tracking of all vehicles;
- Maintaining the vehicle maintenance schedules and preparing vehicle repair and services;
- Ensure monthly fleet mileage tracker reports are updated;
- Manager and arrange LTs trainings;
- Ensure fleet compliance with government regulations;
- Work closely with Fleet Manager to ensure recruitment of qualified LTs;
- Ensure submission of fleet service documents for payments.
ALLIANCE BUILDERS WANTED:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, Purchasing management or relevant business management/administration degree;
- Proven experience managing supply chain operations;
- Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including Paste/Sage Evolution, etc;
- In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook);
- Management and leadership skills;
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks;
- Highly organized and detail-oriented and with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Fluency in Portuguese written and spoken and fluency in English written and spoken.
